ERC offers a variety of strategies and resources to help teachers who are having a challenging time teaching and motivating students reading below grade level.  Our consultants will partner with the assigned teacher for 90 days.  During these three months the Educational Reading Consultant and the assigned teacher will:

  • Discuss the latest research on building reading comprehension skills.
  • Model teaching reading skills to small groups.
  • Select appropriate reading materials for the classroom.
  • Video tape a reading session for professional discussion with colleagues.
  • Learn a variety of practical strategies in the  classroom to increase reading and writing skills
